‘In Harihar Nagar’ will have a sequel. The sequel to the movie will be by none other than actor - producer Lal. Lal is going to debut as an independent director with the movie. Lal will produce the film. The movie is expected to be release in 2009.
In Harihar Nagar is referred to as part of the golden age of Malayalam comedy and among the most hilarious movies in Indian cinema. The famous line “Thomassukutty vittodaa” comes from this movie.
In Harihar Nagar is the story of four young men Mahadevan (Mukesh), Govindan Kutty (Siddique), Appukuttan (Jagadish) and Thomas Kutty (Asokan), who live together in Harihar Nagar. The story begins with the arrival of lovely Maya (Geetha Vijayan) to a nearby house. The four of them are instantly smitten and decide to pursue her. They try to woo the girl by planning to charm her grandparents and thus winning their trust. Those attempts have hilarious consequences.
But Maya is in town to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of her brother (Sureshgopi). In an attempt to win Maya’s heart, these four guys convince Maya that they knew her brother very well and that they were his close friends. Then the movie veers into serious territory involving a villain, John Honai (Riza Bava), who was also responsible for the murder of Andrew, a friend of the girl’s brother.

it would ve made much more appeal to the viewers if the director’d remodelled it with the fervour of current gen-Prithvi,jayasurya,kunchacko& naren.

it’s not the matter of appeal….it’s about the role playing…i guess director was for more intelligent by giving those same role to whoever deserved it!

The four new generation actors (Prithvi,jayasurya,kunchacko& naren.) can never do like the old fluxible actors.do you think anybody in the new team can do a comedy like jagadish or mukesh,…never.
Meera Manu - With due respects, don’t ever even think of making a silly comment like that again. The new age can only ‘act’, and they are nowhere close to artists of the late 80s and 90s…maybe they need some orientation from the veterans; from the likes of the cast in this sequel.

mukesh is an actor which malayalam film as ever seen………no one can act comedy has mukesh acts..he is talented actor..natural comedy……………he has a style of diolouge………….like “pullu ninakenne manasilaayadhe” from movie vandanam
Listen MEERA MANU! What u said is completly out of sense. If the new Gen appears the movie will be big flop. They will never be able to compete with our mahadevan, govindan kutty, thomas kutty and appu kuttan. The old style were completly different. THOMAS KUTTY VITTOODA… KAKKA THOORI YENNA THONNUNATH.. These dialogues will never be forgotten by Mallus. I hop the sequel will have the same actors who acted in the old movie. Just eagerly waiting for its release
