The German punk rock band ‘nullTARiF’ is now all set to rock the city with the first performance of their South Asia tour at Nisagandhi on Friday as part of the inauguration of the Max Muller Bhavan.
Their performance promises to be a whole new experience for the rock fans in the city who are not much used to live shows of non-English rock bands. The two hour show will feature songs from Nulltarif’s first album ‘Licht Aus’ (Lights off) besides other original Nulltarif tracks. Their style basically involves a fusion of punk, hip hop and metal while themes range from love, relationship, philosophy and satire. Nulltarif is one rock band that believes in the sanctity of lyrics.
“This is our first trip to this part of the globe and we are quite excited about our performance here. We understand that this will be new for the people of Thiruvananthapuram, we just hope they like it,” said lead singer Jules. The four-member band also includes guitarist Danny, base guitarist Denis and drummer Tobi.
The band has established itself in Germany through more than 200 performances and the three boys have now hit the stages of France and England. Nulltarif recently released their first album “Licht aus!” (Lights off!)
With their first album “Licht aus” (Lights off), they proved that German rock has still a ray of hope. Their music alternates between melancholy and humour; add a touch of self-irony, and Nulltarif set the stage on fire with each performance. Nulltarif have stayed true to their music over the years but always endeavour to produce new material. Sometimes melancholic, sometimes funny and sometimes self-ironic, their songs really blast the ears. The group is famous for their dedication, innovation and spontaneity.
