After the superhit Kaaka Kaaka, Suriya and Gautham Menon return with Vaaranam Aayiram. One of the most anticipated movies of the year, the movie chronicles the life of a man from age 16 to 60. The movie stars three leading ladies: Simran, Sameera and Divya Spandana. Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, music is composed by Harris Jayraj.
The meaning of the title is “Strength of 1000 elephants”. Vaaranam Aayiram is the life story of a young man. The story begins from even before he is born and proceeds to that point in his life where things take on a sudden turn,and he can no more be an ordinary man. Surya playing in young, mid and old age get up in this film.
Surya has really done the impossible. He has managed to get the six pack abs that any youngster would die for and it was not an overnight phenomenon. Along with his personal trainer Alkhas, he was going through a rigorous routine and a strict diet for 4 months to get the six pack.
Surya confessed that it was Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan who introduced him to Alkhas, who came down to Chennai and monitored Surya’s diet and workouts. He was forced to follow a very strict diet.
Now Surya’s female fan following are going to increase, and the young generation considers abs as the in-thing, for that great “shirtless look”, made popular by Salman Khan and SRK in “Om Shanti Om” is going to catch up in Kollywood.

it is not the packs that makes a good collection
for a movie. it is the story and presentation that matters. for example taare zamen par. there is no six packs in the movie. 6packs good for him.
I hope he doesn´t show off so much like Salman Khan- about 50% of his topless scenes could be cutted out. They´re just like: heeeeeyy…look at my biceps..yammi yammi…. ; )
So, I hope Surya only shows his six pack, when it is really necessary for the story!
