Director Renjith is back with a new movie ‘Thirakkatha’ starring Prithviraj and Priyamani.
Movies, which told the inner stories of filmdom, were always appreciated in Malayalam. Be it in ‘Udhayananu Tharam’, ‘Chathikkatha Chanthu’, the recent Katha Parayumpol or in the 84′ hit ‘Lekhayude Maranam - Oru Flash Back’, all the stories did well with the audience, who showered their interests in similar stories.
Now director Renjith, who is facing a set back after his continuous four flops is trying to revive his career by panning into the life of a director in his new flick ‘Thirakkatha’. Prithviraj appear in the movie as Akbar Ahamed, a director who is criticized for lifting storylines from a Hollywood movie for his first hit film. Now the director is more cautious in selecting his story for the next flick, and is in a trip to find the right one that looks out and out original, without similarities.
‘Thirakkatha’ planned as a musical love story will feature six songs from Sharath who is all set for a comeback to film music scenario after six years. The movie produced by Varnachithra and Capital Theatres will also feature director Renjith in a crucial role.
After a short break, Priyamani is again back to Malayalam. She will be playing the role of Malavika, a film artist. Priyamani had been with Prithviraj, earlier in 2004 for the movie ‘Satyam’ Priyamani hit big time after her successful portrayal of a village girl in ‘Paruthiveeran’, which was much applauded around the globe, even in many international festivals.

my commends abt the movie thirakatha. in this movie director do his roll very good. in my point of view best film and very good treatment.
Good story.. Excellent theme… Renjith has done a g8 job!!! Most of the super star movies are 100% flop in malayalam now a days… Only few movies like “kadhaparayumbol” and other comedy movies has hit 100 days… After a long time a gud movie in malayalam… No supernatural fights and fantasy love stories.. It speaks abt the feelings and emotions which everyone can understand… Its simplicity makes it a g8 movie.. Thanku you so much renjith for this excellnt movie….
nice movie.. when the movie ends it leaves a little pain in our heart… i liked the movie very much.. after a long time here is a touching love story in malayalam.. good job Ranjith and all the crews in Thirakkatha… A big hand of applause for Anoop….
