In a time when no one expected anything big in the career of Jayaram, he has bounced back to the forefront with a magical hit. Jayaram’s latest ‘Veruthe Oru Bharaya’ is now declared as a big hit by the trade. The movie, which opened to average collections, picked up after the initial good word of mouth and aggressive marketing strategies from Pyramid Saimira-the distributors of the film. And for the first time in a couple of years, this movie has become the only hit with no big names to its credit.The film is directed by Akku Akbar

The movie is said to have brought in 1.5 crores from its two weeks run, a pretty good figure for a film which was completed in a low budget of 1.35 crores. ‘Veruthe Oru Bharya’ is now expected to have an open run without competition till the arrival of Ramzan releases.

Jayaram plays Sugunan in Veruthe Oru Bharya. An overseer at the Electricity Board, Sugunan finds a lot of analogies between his life and the power supply.

The highlight of the movie is that, a man and woman who have lost intimacy and passion in their marriage and their mild-mannered approach to dealing with themselves may feel uncomfortably familiar to most of the viewers. Well, there are light and humorous moments but it’s a serious subject handled seriously.

A word of mention must also be made of Suraj Venjaramoodu, who once again has repeated his magic of creating a laugh riot, when ever on screen. He maintains his flourish in the act without tarnishing with the integrity of the character, he is in.

The film has an impressive supporting cast with names as Innocent, Jagathy Sreekumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Niveditha and Sona Nair making it to the list. The movie once again brings to fore the importance of quality scripts in the making of commercial hits.The script is by K Gireeshkumar. Veruthe Oru Bharya has music by Shyam Dharman. Shaji has wielded the camera, while Saloo George is the man behind the art direction.

Jayaram has also got the better of the success story, suddenly emerging busy with nine more projects under his sleeve, of which six are in Tamil. He has also agreed to play the lead in three new Malayalam projects. His immediate releases will include ‘Saroja’ in Tamil.
