There are many ways to save on the cost of your beauty products. The biggest one is to shop at the drugstore, discount store or supermarket instead of high end makeup boutiques. There are so many inexpensive makeup products in stores today that are just as good as the high end brands. Also by shopping at these types of stores you get to take advantage of sales and coupons. You can often find makeup coupons in magazines and newspapers, so be sure to look. Some of these coupons give you a substantial savings off the cost. Also watch for stores offering buy one, get one free deals. This is a great way to stock up.

Foundation is the one item you should always spend more on. That doesn’t mean you have to if a cheap foundation works well for you. It does mean you should be willing to shell out a bit more if necessary on the base that gives you a flawless look. Many people wear concealer and powder on top of foundation. Drugstore brands like NYC, Cover Girl, Maybelline and Revlon  make great products of this type. And their foundation isn’t bad, either.

Blush comes in many great forms these days including powder, liquid, mousse and cream. Your local drugstore should have all of these. Maybelline makes Dream Mousse Blush while Revlon makes a wonderful cream blush whose name escapes me. Also by Revlon is a lip and cheek stain similar to BeneTint by Benefit.

Eyeshadows and lipsticks are makeup items that you can really play with. If you are someone who can never decide on a color, go for a discount priced brand like Wet N’ Wild, E.L.F. or NYC. These brands often sell lipsticks for cheap. Cover Girl makes single eyeshadows that cost around $2 in some stores. Nail polishes are another area where buying cheap can allow you to experiment with lots of different shades.
