Mumbai, Saturday, October 11, 2008: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who turned 66 today was rushed to Lilavati Hospital after he complained of abdominal pain.

According to sources Mr. Bachchan had complained of stomach cramps since yesterday evening.

Amitabh was on a routine check up to the Nanavati Hospital where the Doctors advised him for a CT scan and X-rays of his stomach and chest, he was referred to the Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra.

He has been admitted under a close family doctor sources said. Quoting doctors that Amitabh might have to remain hospitalised for at least a week. Son Abhishek, daughter-in-law Aishwarya, daughter Shveta, wife Jaya and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh are at the hospital.

In the morning, a lot of his fans had assembled outside ‘Jalsa’ to greet the superstar on his 66th birthday but they were left shocked when they spotted Big B inside an ambulance leaving for the hospital.

Previously, in December 2005, Amitabh was successfully operated upon for infection, inflammation and perforation in his small and large intestines at Lilavati Hospital.
