New Delhi, Wednesday 18 November 2008: Senior BJP leader L K Advani has demanded that Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad’s handling of the Malegaon case should be changed.

“There must be a judicial probe into role of Pragya and Army officers,” he said.

Advani expressed outrage, after reading Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Thakur’s affidavit to court. The Sadhvi on Monday alleged that she had been subject to torture by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad.

“It’s clear that the anti-terror squad is politically motivated. Can’t believe such barbaric treatment of spiritual person,” Advani said.

Speaking at an election rally at Raigarh, in Chattisgarh advani expressed shock over the fact that narco tests were conducted on Pragya without her consent.

Meanwhile, Malegaon blast accused, Lieutenant Colonel Sreekanth Purohit has been remanded to judicial custody till November 29. (Agency)
