Chhattisgarh, Thursday 20 November 2008: Chhattisgarh will witness the second phase of polling on Thursday to elect a new Assembly. During the first phase held on November 14, 39 constituencies went to polls.
This time around, a total of 687 candidates, including 58 women are in fray. Out of these, 42 candidates are crorepatis while 53 have criminal cases against them.
Total 88,16,808 voters will exercise their franchise in 10,314 polling stations across the state with the help of 14,467 EVMs.
BJP and BSP are contesting all the 51 seats; Congress has its candidates on 48 seats and NCP in three.
