New Delhi, Friday, November 21, 2008: National Security Advisor M K Narayanan assured the Opposition leader L K Advani to look into the torture allegations made by sadhvi Pragya against the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) probing the Malegaon blast case, BJP spokesman said in New Delhi on Friday.
National Security Adviser met L K Advani after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called the BJP leader on Thursday and requested him not to communalise the issues of national security.
The Prime Minister told Advani that the government doesn’t believe in Islamic or Hindu terror and the BJP should not make this a political issue.
On Tuesday, Advani had come out in support of sadhvi Pragya Thakur alleging that the ATS was acting in a politically motivated and unprofessional manner.
He’d also raised the issue of the affidavit filed by the sadhvi in a Nashik court alleging that ATS personnel are torturing her.
PM had told Advani on Thursday that the allegations of torture and political pressure in Malegaon blasts case are not true.
