North Waziristan, Saturday 22 November 2008: Suspected US missile has killed at least five militants in northwestern Pakistan,Intelligence officials said. Saturday’s missile strike in Ali Khel town of North Waziristan tribal came days after Pakistan summoned the US ambassador and lodged a strong protest over Wednesday’s missile attack deep inside its territory.
Intelligence officials said the latest attack hit the home of a local commander, where foreigners were also staying.
The officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media said they got this information from their agents.
Pakistan is an ally of the United States in its war on terror, but it opposes such attacks in its tribal regions.
